We have been home from the clinic in India for about a month and wanted to post an update. The best news is Alan has had an MRI and a PET scan and everything is clean and clear. They moved the schedule out to six months for next scans. We got this news on his birthday, which was the best present!
My thyroid seems to be happy. I have had a blood test and my doctor confirmed the lower medication level they moved to at the clinic is working well. Even more important is my well-being. I feel different within, calmer and more at peace. The cleanse has quieted my physical system, and I am not feeling side effects from the thyroid medication.
They told us at the clinic that the cleanse continues for another three months after leaving the clinic and we need to be careful and take good care of ourselves. We have both found that we need to eat carefully after so many weeks on such a simple diet. I see that now that we are back, eating simple small meals makes me feel better. Because I had been completely “cleaned” out, when I eat off program, it doesn’t feel good. My motivation for making good choices for food and keeping my schedule simpler is easier than I have ever experienced.
It has taken time to readjust to our fast paced life. We each had some slow days getting used to our work lives and the balancing kid needs. I am enjoying being more present for the home life and not rushing to move too quickly on my professional agenda.
I have enjoyed staying in touch with the interesting folks I met at the clinic. I have Skyped with my new pal, Kim in Sydney. Having a pal 15 hours ahead is not easy, but the current technology sure makes it easier and fun to stay connected. It has been a great support having a pal who is also figuring out how to integrate all the neat things we experienced in India and how to make it work in our home lives.
I am so glad we had the opportunity to travel to India and experience such a powerful cleanse. I intend to keep it alive at home. We are experimenting with rice, lentil and veggie meals. And even after some really hard days there, I would like to return again to another level of healing.
