Ten Things To Know About Life in India

Here is a fun list of things we came up with last night at dinner among much laughter!  Do write if you need more explanation.  Life in India is SO different than life as we know it in the US.

Ten things to know about life in India

  1. Shoes are not necessary.
  2. A scooter can be used as the family car.
  3. Scooters and motorcycles can be driven bare foot.
  4. Cows, dogs and cats roam the streets without any supervision or ownership.
  5. Yes doesn’t always mean yes, it means we heard you, we don’t necessarily agree.
  6. Tomorrow means at least three days.
  7. Soon means we have no idea.
  8. Horns are used instead of brakes.
  9. You can drive on both sides of the road; just make sure your horn works.
  10. The rule of three – runs the country.  It goes like this:

If anything doesn’t work the first time, it isn’t a problem.  You have to try it three times and complain three times to get any action.  And it won’t be fixed tomorrow!  This is certain!
